Giles Duley is a British documentary photographer and photojournalist. He is best known for his photography of humanitarian issues and the consequences of conflict. In 2011, he was severely injured after stepping on an IED whilst in Afghanistan and as a result became a triple amputee. I remembered on the first day of lesson for photography class, my lecturer told the class to choose one of the 12 photographers he chose and I chose Giles Duley because his pictures are so powerful. He uses his platform which is photography to create awareness, showing the world that there are people out there suffering. So people like us need to step up and help them. I like how Giles Duley took his pictures. It is so inspiring.
